China. in love

After NLDs in Zhuhai - Me and Martha stayed in Mainland for another 2 days. At 8 pm we told OCP that we're staying and we need to get to GuangZhou tonight. At 9-30 we got to bus station to take last bus and finally called Jay (LCP @GZ) to tell him that we'll be there in 2 hours. I dont think he could find a place to stay for us, so luckily i knew Ukriania trainee in GZ, working in Hotel, so Jay called him and ... there we were on the way to GZ at least knowing that there's a place to stay.
During NLDS we stayed isolated in venue, so we didnt really see China. First experience: on the bus station cleaning lady poured the water outside the window on the street, right near us... Next one - taxi in GZ who fooled us by telling lies about distance and prices, and then eventually pretending he didnt speak English when i tried to talk to him about justice and being fair...eeeeh :)
So we spent 1 day in GZ: totally relaxed, slept till 11, coffee in Starbucks near by, sightseeing - on "GZ Peak" - dont remmeber the name - we couldnt see city at all cu of Smog, but we took cable car and small open bus back, had lots of opportunities to see the city and we loved it.
I loved it - all these streets with low buildings, flowers on balconies, people riding bycicles, children playing on the streets.. I bought color bubbles :))) first time after Ukraine... just felt a smile on my face - cuz i could discover, i could learn something, i could relax, i could ...
No people around spoke good english.most didnt speak or undertand english at all, and no translations around - just chinese. Perfect environemnt to talk about cultural xp. I had to speak with gestures, cuz we didnt understand each other at all! at all!!! cool huh? :)
Jay invited us for dinner - something never happened to me in HK... :( He cooked some chinese stuff i would normally not eat at home. But it was so nice, that i did eat it. So nice to chat with someone at home!! Thanks for great conversations, Jay!
Next day we traveled to Shenzhen - in the bus on TV i suddenly among Chinese Karaoke songs heard Ukrianian anthema nd some Ukrianian images!!!! SO Surreal!! Apperantly there were days of Ukrainian Culture in CHina- so they had commercial on BusTV :))) I felt so strange seeing it three times during bus ride :)) Anyways, i Shenzhen we were tempted by cheap massage and manicure, that eventually was not so cheap :) but still nice... (my shoulders hurt on teh next day, i suppose massage was not too good, huh?)
And went back home. Would be great if we just came back. But not...not us... on the way back, Martha was held for 2 hours in Immigration office. Well 1 hour alone and 1 with me.. :)) no details,,, it is just funny... one more officer knows more about AIESEC :)))
And thnen we were happy to be home :) just happy to be home. Even though i had great time in China. China is beautiful and I have to come back!
Besides at home Robin was still waiting for us and cooked Chocolate Fondue for us :) Just felt so good:))
***
I recently realized that me and HK will have a relationship: not easy, but enjoyable. I do love this city for many things. So I am happy to be back. But i also love to explore, to learn, to feel different. And I want to see more.
